Today in US National Team History

The US continued its march towards World Cup 94 as the host country the uninspiring results in friendlies continued on this day in May 1994. A 1-0 victory over a weak Armenia team in Fullerton raised more questions than answers as to whether the US would become the first ever World Cup host to not make the knock out stages of the tournament.

Here was the US lineup from that day in 1994:

Tony Meola

Marcelo Balboa

Alexi Lalas

Paul Caliguiri

Mike Burns

Tom Dooley (Mike Sorber)

Claudio Reyna

Cobi Jones (Joe Max Moore)

Dom Kinnear (Chris Henderson)

Hugo Perez

Frank Klopas

Frank Klopas scored the lone American goal in the disappointing performance.
