Löw Should Not Rule Out Kurányi

Joachim Löw, the Manager of the German National Football Team, reiterated this week that Kevin Kurányi will not be in consideration for the World Cup Squad. Kurányi has been in good form for Bundesliga title contenders Schalke 04, under new manager Felix Magath.

Kurányi, has been on the fringes of the national team for years, and has a remarkable goal scoring rate: 19 goals in 50 matches with the full National Team. However, very few of his goals or his caps have come under Löw, who omitted the player from the match squad for an October 2008 qualifier versus Russia. That home match versus Russia was a pivotal moment because Kurányi was so disappointed at being left out of the squad he left the stadium and did not return to the team hotel afterwards.
